Has this happened to you?

One of the most frustrating things about blogging is getting a comment or question, then having no way to respond. If you use Blogger and leave comments on blogs... please, please follow these steps to make sure bloggers can respond to you! I did a post not long ago on this, but I can tell from my comments lately that it's time for another reminder!
You should make yourself easy to contact, because blogging is not a one-way street! Your email address will NOT be published on your blog. See? Look around my blog - my email address is not printed on the page.
Follow these steps:
1. Open up a new window. That's Ctrl-N if you're on a PC, Command-N for us Mac girls. Go 'head, I'll wait.
2. Leave one window open to these instructions. Go to your blog on the other window.
3. Click on customize. Click on dashboard in the upper right corner.

4. On the left, next to where your profile picture is, click on Edit Profile.

5. Under Privacy, click "show my email." Under identity, make sure the public email address that you use is there.

6. Save profile.

Now when you leave comments on Blogger, the blog owner is able to contact you.
This is good networking.

Hey! Did you update your header again? Or am I losing it?
Um, by the way ~ I like it. ;D
I'm so thankful that you taught me this a while ago. I've often written an email back to someone who commented and then realized "no-reply". ;)
You just make is so nice and easy! Thanks!
Quick question for ya - what software do you use to add all the nice little red whoo-dingies and arrows to your pics? I am the opposite of the Photoshop Queen that you are and only occasionally can punch something out (usually with much irritation) with my PAINT program (really - that's where I'm at).
I found you via your husbands blog via I ♥ Faces. I also found you via Meredith at Like Merchant Ships.
I can't even begin to tell you how much you have helped me in blogging! I am playing around on my blog trying to model it after LWM3B.
If I get an increase in traffic, I may take the plunge and spend some of my blow money/photography addiction fund on giving my blog a facelift!
I really like your signature in this post- gonna have to lift it!!
Thank You! That is one of my major pet peeves!!! I will be sure and Twitter about this!
LOVE this!
I soooo agree. I keep meaning to steal your tutorial and post it on my blog. But I haven't.
My number one pet peeve (besides the no reply thing) is the comments. That aren't really comments.
Y'know why I never thought much about it (until you mentioned it on my blog)? Heh, because of exactly that.. I'm used to holding convos *in* blog comments vs email LOL
Thanks for the tip Darcy -- I didn't know about this, but my little box is now checked and my email is enabled. Apologies for all those I've frustrated by my ignoramus-ness (and my love of making up new words).
My biggest blogging pet peeve is related to adding pictures to my posts. It always seems to mess up the formatting of what I've written. I lose all my spacing and fonts when I add a photo. Is there something I can do to avoid this problem?
thanks again for the tip.
{Cheering wildly while staining on my chair!!!}
It is sooooo much easier to develop relationships with other bloggers (and answer direct questions) when I can reply via email.

uuuuuuuh, that would be STANDING on my chair. Staining my chair would be a different post entirely.

Well, since I am currently on an ancient platform, my pet peeve would be wonderful and thoughtful and personal comments by people who don't sign their name. Anonymous sure does get around! Or if they do sign and have a common name, it can be a little confusing. I know many Amy's, Kathy's and Kathi's! (But only 1 Darcy.) :-)
Oh, my goodness! I am so sending my readers over here for this wonderful, screen-shot-filled tutorial! Jolanthe, from Homeschool Creations, showed me this a month or two ago and it has made it soooooo much easier to respond to comments.
deep sigh of relief thinking that the whole world might read this. i hate getting questions that i can not answer bc of no reply bloggers! grrr.
By the way, this entire series is excellent. You are much better at organizing your thoughts than I am!
I'm so glad you posted this instruction. I'm going to link to it from my blog, for this is such a frustration in reaching my sweet blog friends.
By the way, I listened to your talked today at Women Inspired and gained such valuable insight. I am a blogger, writer, designer (with graphics training from eons ago, but self-taught CSS) type and yet there was still so much for me to gain from your session!
Thanks!
Thanks.. just did it! You're helping my blog out all over the place Darcy!
Question I meant to ask during the webinar, but was distracted by a 7 month old:
If you're unable to reply via email, do you do that in your own comments section or over at the commenter's blog? It's just that it's time consuming to go to each person's blog to re-comment, but I wonder if they got the message if I leave it on mine...
what to do?
DUDE, that was me...sorry! I was trying to leave a comment via my phone! Still getting use to it!

That is the BEST tutorial I've seen on this subject. I may send some of my readers over here to see it. Thanks for posting that.
Want to know my biggest blogging pet peeve - oversharing! Just in the couples of days, I think I've seen posts on poop smeared kids, farting, constipation, and wedgie picking. Oh.my.gosh people! Save something for the honeymoon!
We all know these things happen in life, but I don't think people really stop and think if this is something their readers really want to know about. I know I DON'T - ew!

That which we call a comment
By any other name would read as sweet(ly).
Thanks for leaving me a comment. Love it!
