10 Things I Rather be Doing Today

10. Reading New Moon. Again.

9. Baking cupcakes. I have no reason to bake cupcakes. I just think they are pretty.

8. Taking a bubble bath at ~110 degrees with a fresh issue of Real Simple with no one interrupting me for an hour.

7. Having a sleepy newborn over so I can wrap him in a knit pod and practice taking a billion pictures, all while he never wakes up.

6. Clicking leisurely through Amazon.com ordering whatever book I feel like, knowing it will be here in 2 days.

5. Shutting down the computer and not opening it again until Monday. Or, the next Monday. Or August.

4. Discovering I've saved my pennies long enough and can now afford the camera I want. I'm not even close.

3. Piling the boys into my lap and reading Run Away Bunny for the 7424726376457592378th time. I might actually do that today. Only one won't roll his eyes and tell me he's too big for Run Away Bunny.

2. Getting through an entire day without someone saying, "Mommy, he ________ me!" and bursting into tears or melting down.

1. Sitting with my hubby under an umbrella on an uncrowded, tropical beach with a warm breeze and a refreshing drink with no plans other than to sit there.

  2. Well, I like your list, but I'd also love to have a whole day to go through old photos so that some day I might be able to scrapbook again. Or maybe private Photoshop lessons from Darcy. And while we're really dreaming...on my new fancy computer. : )

  6. I am SO tired of doing all the home tasks without hubby's help for last 3 or more weeks.His deadline for a grant finishes today so I am waiting to have my helpful , loving husband back, whom I hardly see these days as he gets up at 3 am and by the time i wake up ,he is already gone to work!!!

    Also check out this story of stolen pictures from a blog.I am so glad that i have deleted my blogs as i also never changed resolution of photos before posting or water marked them.I do put them on facebook/orkut but my profile is private!

  7. Well, if I could be doing ANYTHING else today.....let me see.

    I think it would be to pay off all our bills with the million dollars of newfound money that just fell into my lap. Hey, a girl can dream, right?

    I guess I am doing what I want to today. Spending time with my favorite little boy and checking in on my bloggie buddies! I went into a massive cleaning frenzy yesterday because I thought I was going to have a visitor, but she had to back out at the last minute. So, for right now, most of the housework is already done!

  8. Oooh, those sound pretty good. Or else I'd pick playing with Photoshop - uninterrupted, being at a beach (at the ocean, not our local land-locked lake), meeting up with some friends, hanging out on the patio at Starbucks, spending the day in the mountains with my hubby. :D

  9. I would rather be doing many of the items on your list.

    Today, I would rather be swimming in our own swimming pool rather than heading to the city pool. However, so thankful to be able to take the children to the pool.

    But instead I am stuck inside with a tornado watch. Two kids napping and two getting special movie and popcorn time to take their mind off the storm. If the siren goes off, we're ready.
    Yea, I'd just rather it be SUNNY. Not askin' too much.

    I'd also love to go through a day without kids fighting.

    I'd like to be outside reading a book.

    I'd like a weekend away with just my hubby.

    I'd like to be eating a something fresh and yummy instead of another pbj

  15. I'd love to get through a day without the squeals of someone hurting/bugging someone else as well!

    I would love to take a NAP with a sweet smelling newborn (my kids are getting too big too fast).

    But my fave would be getting gardening done while someone ELSE cooks and serves a meal for the entire family (so I don't have to cook - yet again...). I do NOT find cooking to be 'theraputic' but give me a some sunshine on my back and the smell of earth in my nose.... ahhhhhh...

    But now back to reality - thanks for the daydream, Darcy!
