Six Years Ago and Today

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

Six years ago today I was admitted to antepartum. I was 28 weeks pregnant. Despite the OBs', perinatologists' and neonatalogists' best efforts, Trouble was born 2 days later. More on his story this week as we celebrate the true miracle of his birth and survival. I cannot believe it's been six years.

Yesterday and today I tried to capture some photos of my 7-year-old wonder boy, Picasso. Aren't kids so stinkin' cute with those two front teeth missing? He lost them both yesterday after a running crash with Trouble's noggin. They were wiggly already but having your 5-year-old brother head butt them certainly speeds up the process.

How old were you or your kids when you/they lost the two front teeth?

  1. Hi Darcy!
My oldest boy, (6) has that same smile, (missing two front teeth). Best Wishes,

  4. My daughter was just past 5 when she lost her two bottom teeth. Her permanent teeth came in before she actually lost her baby teeth (freaked us out at first since we'd never seen that before:) so she never had that cute gap-toothed look!

I never tire of hearing Troubles story and all he's gone through and what a miracle he is! I look forward to that post!

  5. Want to hear something crazy...my son is only 5 and he's lost both front teeth. He got his teeth in when he was 2 months old...so I new this was coming...he's always trying to be so big...with 2 older brothers...I guess his body is trying to follow.

  6. Oh gosh... it seems like so long ago. *sigh*

Taylor was about seven maybe six? Her teeth came out one at a time... but my Peyton... well, she was flying down the driveway in a little red wagon holding the handle backwards. She hit the curb and plowed face first into the handle and knocked her two front teeth out... I think she was six. Nothing is ever normal or easy with that child. haha!

  8. Ouch! It makes my teeth ache just thinking about a headbutt to the mouth!

Picasso is quite a handsome fella. Enjoy the toothless grin before it's replaced with over-sized teeth that you wonder if they'll ever grow into!

  9. I think Cindy(12) was seven... Christopher(10), on the other hand, still has all his baby teeth. Not a wiggly one in sight - dentists haven't been overly concerned, as it seems to fit with all of his issues, but we're gonna see about an x-ray, as he may not even HAVE a second set..

    Lovely photos! (and adorable kiddo!)
