He's "Einstein" for a Reason

"Mom, I love Mars Mission."

He's talking about Legos again. Or still. It's all the same in my girly head. He talks about Legos pretty much all the time.

"I know you do, sweet pea." I agree, "It's pretty cool stuff!"

He gets excited. And even though I've probably heard a variation of this conversation 20 different ways in the last 3 days alone, I lend him my interest. Or try to.

"Yeah, I can't wait until I have the Hypersonic Aircraft and the Eagle Command Center Base," he spills out, "... that's going to be so great!"

Whoa. Mommy alarms start going off in my head... that's not what he asked for in his Christmas list.

"I thought you wanted some other Legos? You didn't ask for those sets."

"Yeah, I know," he confesses.

"They are expensive. So, I'm just going to ask Santa for them...

... that way you and Daddy don't have to spend any money."

Gosh, I love this kid.

BTW, heard you were looking for my dishes (from my blog post). Let's just skip the ebay auction fight and have a duel with your boybarians leftover light sabers. Saves time. LOL

  8. I had a friend whose dd did that with a PlayStation years ago when, not only were they terribly expensive, but also extremely hard to get.

That's one of those things that is always funny to other people...you know, on the outside looking in. ;-)

  15. LOL... Sounds like my daughter. He list changes daily. Makes shopping rather difficult. Legos - join a FLL team :) We did that for 5 years.... tons of fun! And get use to Legos - they will be around for a while - You will find them years from now. (Usually at 3 am, with you feet in the dark trying to get to the bathroom!)

  16. That is too cute! And why do they have to make all the lego sets so expensive. My son wants the LEGO Death Star, which is FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS. To which I replied, "No Way, Jose!"

  19. That is so sweet. I have a constant talker too. I feel bad if... *ahem*... when I ignore him, but my ears and brain can only handle all the MarioKart technique info and such for a brief period of time. :-)

Anywho, I thought I'd say hi! I found you today while following an endless stream of sidebar clicks. Love your designs!

  21. Gotta love kids! Hey I just found your personal blog. I've been a secret admirer of your designs. Wanted to introduce myself and say hi! I'm a designer also. Just started blogging a few months ago and love finding such creative moms. I came over from eight crazy's blog.

I own a design firm and just play around with blog stuff for fun. I know you are probably swamped, but I have a lot of people contact me about blog design and I usually send them to your site.

Hope Santa comes through for your son:-)

  22. We have had so many Legos over the years, I now just sweep them up and throw them away...gasp. My friend heard this and she was over to sweep them up and take them off my hands. So, how is Santa gonna spend the money?

  26. Last year, my older son told me he still believed in Santa because he knew, knew that my husband and I were too poor to buy all those Santa gifts.

    Thanks.
