Surprise! Contest!

We did it!

Handy Man and I have spent years talking about getting away for a weekend. We made theoretical plans, talked about how the boys would do without us, imagined where we would eat, and how it might be nice to dress up. Well, this weekend we had a wedding on our calendar. The boybarians were left in the care of my in-laws and Handy Man and I had an adults-only weekend for the first time since 1999. Nineteen ninety-nine!

To celebrate our get-away weekend and the fact that my friend Christa is expanding an absolutely fabulous line of handmade jewelry at her etsy shop - Christa and I are having a contest here at Life With My 3 Boybarians. And what's the loot?! It is this fabulous piece that Christa calls Chocolate Drops.

Win this beauty!

Here is Christa's description:
"This chunky strand is full of deliciousness! Pretty pink "miracle beads" (they really do glow in certain lights!) with clusters of Smoky Quartz in between. Necklace is a to be worn long and lusciously. Diameter is a whopping 26 inches.

And to the winner, it will be wrapped in my special gift wrap all pretty-like!"

Want to enter? Here're the details:

  4. Too funny that your man is wearing a shirt with "TEXAS" on the front... is that a clue?!
This is not my entry, ha ha, I'm the one giving away the prize!

  5. Kathy is entry #1.

Her comment was very cute - I just wanted to let others guess for awhile.

She got it right right away, way to go, Kathy! :)

  6. Looks like Lake Travis and Texas Hill Country, but I don't know the down town and horse in the window town.

  7. Okay, is code okay? Can I say L.G. and still not get deleted?

Oh, and I have several Christa Collection pieces. I usually only wear vintage jewelry and TCC is my one exception.Beautiful, quality and original pieces. Sometimes she even works in a vintage element for me.

And I need a pink one:) May commenter 8 (if that's still me) be the winner:)

  8. I would have guessed somewhere in Kentucky, because of the horse, but I don't think I'm right.

    Love the necklace!

    Amy :)

  9. Comment away - no deletions. No need to code anything! Let the fun ensue!

  10. I have no idea. Why is there a horse in that window?! Is it Mackinac island?
    ReplyDelete
  11. I have no clue, but I do remember you saying that you were going to your MOBS wedding in Mexico. Is that it? Although I have no idea what that horse means...and that town looks too rustic to be Mexico...ah. I give up.
    ReplyDelete
  12. You are in the Louisianna near the Gulf of Mexico.

Oh and I have tons of Christa Collection and can honestly honestly honestly say it they are my favorite pieces in my jewelry cabinet!

I hope I win. Though Christa probably doesn't because she'd rather her jewels get out into the states beyond the next town over (that's what would happen if I won!)

  13. I have no idea! Arkansas?
    ReplyDelete
  14. Chicago? I've never been but it's an educated guess from what I know about you and not from the pictures...they didn't help me any! LOL
    ReplyDelete
  15. Okay, I know it's been guessed at least one time. But I'll throw it out there anyway -

    Galena, IL?

I, too, own some lovlies from the Christa Collection - and they are favorites!

  16. Hmmm...I say Galena, IL - Ha, just kidding, but that tends to be a popular place! I'm not sure, don't think Mexico was this soon - it's got to be some backward town that keeps horses in buildings - I'm going to go with.......oh crap, I don't know - gotta be somewhere with water...Louisiana sounds good :)
    ReplyDelete
  17. Bainbridge Island, Washington? I know that's wrong, but you should visit there sometime. It actualy looks very similar. Have fun!
    O, and, PICK ME!!!!
    ReplyDelete
  18. Okay, so I'm going to guess......Texas. No, I've not been to Texas so I have no real reason to guess Texas but I am so, so envious of your weekend! My dh and I have not had an adult-only weekend since we had the girls! hee hee
And I LOVE the necklace so I'm on my way to check out the jewelry now....

  19. Galena, Illinois. Though I kinda cheated. I googled the name of the building that the horse was in and it said it WAS on Main St.

But I'll cheat to win that gorgeous bling!!!

And you looked LOVELY in the picture of you and handyman!

  20. How about Corpus Cristi, in Texas?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Maybe Branson, MO?? Somewhere in the south, to be sure. Not Arkansas, though. The buildings are too pretty for Arkansas...
    ReplyDelete
  23. Gee, this one was easy - given the answer is already there.

Galena, Illinois. I did the same thing - googled the store. :)
    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm terrible with geography- you know this :)

I'm guessing it is Galena- but why would they have a horse in the window?

  26. Too funny, I guess great minds think alike, I'm a real life friend of Debbie's and have lurked for awhile... I know Debbie you hate that word, it IS kinda weird.

But anywhoo, I did the same detective work as Jennifer P....it must be the name.. "Googled" the name of the shop with the horse in the window... so Galena it is...

I have never heard of this town before and would acutally love to hear the how/why you chose it.

BTW, I do enjoy your blog and even though my kids are in public school I am going to use some of your curr. books to suppliment during the summer months... The Story of the World series.

    Blessings, Jennifer
